There is ongoing debate about whether the functional health system of a country is the one which invite people to take precautionary measures rather than remedial ones. Looking on it as an unreasoned assumption, I will seek to argue against it in this essay.
Of course, there is no escaping the fact that people would enjoy a healthier as well as stress-free life using defensive measures in advance. They know that what they practice will be more effective and useful. This is primarily because there is no specific treatments or medications for certain diseases. For example, Cancer or Aids are still virtually impossible to cure. However, it should not be overlooked that there are numerous illnesses which are unknown and, therefore, have no special method for their prevention.
From my standpoint, governments need to pay equal attention to both measures and similarly ask people to do the same. The justification for my argument is that if people adopt one of these measures, they may face some problems over time. There are a few limitations in each. By way of illustration, there are still inadequate sport facilities or insufficient controls over food industry, or alternatively no guarantees that a particular medication/treatment will certainly manage the disease without causing any other complication.
In sum, although protective measures, instead of corrective ones, can allow for a more peaceful and healthy life, it will most probably be impractical in all situations and cases. Thus, it seems to me that this idea is not essentially correct, in view of the foregoing. Once people are motivated to consider and apply both key measures, society as a whole will enjoy a higher health index.
