Example: After she quit her previous job, she found another job.


                      He was smiling all the time, and I was telling myself how lucky I

                      am.


                       BUT NOT HERE:  I was smiling all the time and telling myself how

                      lucky I am.


                  4.  Use  a  comma  to  set  off  additional  information,  clauses  and
                      phrases.
                      Example:  I,  who  was  treated  badly  by  tour  staff,  is  writing  this


                      letter.

                  5.  Use a comma after certain words which introduce a sentence,

                      including “well,” “yes,” “why,” “hello,” “hey,” and so on.
                      Example: Why, I can’t believe you!


                  6.  Use a comma to separate the day of the month of the year. Even

                      one after the year if your sentence continues.
                      Example: It is the June 12, 2020, edition.


                  7.  Use a comma to separate a city from the state.

                      Example: I am from the Los Angles, California.



                  8.  Use a comma before and after certain introductory words, such

                      as “namely”, “that is”, “for instance”, when they are followed by
                      a series of other items
                      Example:    You  should  not  forget  this  comma  before  certain

                      words, including “for instance”, “including”, and so on.
