Semicolons (;)
1. Use semicolons to separate two closely related sentences in
terms of their meanings.
Example: There are many solutions; to raise public awareness; to
provide more facilities.
Example: All these solutions have been implemented; we can
now hope there would be no problem like this.
NOTE: do
not write the next word after a semi-colon with any capital letter.
2. Use a semicolon before and comma after some words such as
“however”, “therefore”, “that is”, “for instance”, “to illustrate”,
when they introduce another complete sentence right after
another sentence.
Example: This was the happiest moment of my life; however, it did
not last much.
